Five Age Groups, Three Exceptional Programmes

Young children develop rapidly, with each year bringing new milestones and needs. That’s why Little Rascals Educare organises our care into five age-specific groups:

Babies (3 months – 1 year), 1 – 2 years, 2 – 3 years, 3 – 4 years, and 4 – 5 years.

Within our three main programme areas below, your child will be grouped with peers at the same developmental stage, ensuring they receive activities, challenges, and support perfectly suited to where they are in their journey.

Baby Care

Ages: 3 months – 1 year

Our Babies Programme provides a gentle, nurturing environment where your youngest child can grow and develop at their own pace. Under the care of qualified, attentive caregivers, babies receive consistent routines, one-on-one interaction, and age-appropriate sensory stimulation that supports healthy brain development during these critical early months.

What we focus on:

Cognitive sphere enlargement and early brain development
Speech development through songs, rhymes, and interactive play
Social communication skills and bonding with caregivers and peers
Physical development and motor skills improvement
Development of creativity through sensory exploration
Safe, supervised tummy time and movement activities

Playgroup

Ages: 1 – 5 years

The Little Rascals Playgroup where curious, active little ones really come alive. This stage is all about exploration, independence, and discovery — we guide children through structured play-based learning while encouraging self-reliance and confidence.

What we focus on:

Knowledge expansion and exploring the world around them
Speech development and rapidly growing vocabulary
Learning arithmetic and introduction to number concepts
Exploring the world through themed activities
Skill development across all developmental areas
Self-reliance training — learning to do things independently
Gentle, positive potty training support (in partnership with parents)

Pre-School Readiness

Ages: 3 – 5 years

Is your little one getting ready for Grade R? Our Pre-School Readiness focus ensures that children in their final years before Grade R are given the skills, confidence, and emotional readiness they need to thrive in formal schooling. We focus on school readiness without robbing children of the joy of play-based learning.

What we focus on:

Gross motor and fine motor skills development
Advanced speech, language, and early literacy skills
Cognitive and intellectual development — problem-solving, critical thinking
Social and emotional skills — sharing, listening, co-operating, managing feelings
Creative development through art, music, drama, and imaginative play
Grade R preparation — early phonics, writing readiness, number concepts
